Kid-Tauqua Receives Full Funding
Samantha Funding The Arts has graciously funded the entire 2025 children's program at the Victorian Chautauqua. The funding nonprofit is led by June and Charlie McClosky in memory of their daughter Samantha, who was passionate about the arts.

Maryland’s Poet Laureate Delayed!
Maryland’s Poet Laureate, Lady Brion, will present at the 2025 Victorian Chautauqua on Saturday, July 12, at 2:00 PM at Bethel Center. In 2024, Lady Brion is the eleventh and youngest Poet Laureate in Maryland’s history and the only spoken word artist ever to hold this position.
DCL 100 Honors Garrett County Playhouse
Most of the celebration of Deep Creek Lake’s 100th-year anniversary will take place in the Lake District. But a popular piece of lake-area history is coming in July to Victorian Chautauqua in Mountain Lake Park and to Our Town Theatre in Oakland on August 5.
Classical Guitar Returns.
Surveyed audiences pleaded that Edwards return for another engagement after his impressive performance in 2024. Aiming to please, and already a consideration, the program committee agreed to request his return in 2025. He will perform at the Vaudeville In The Street stage on Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13, 2024.

The Victorian Chautauqua was represented by Bob Spear, who submitted the grant application, and the Program Committee's Mary Helen Spear while accepting the grant award from The Community Trust Foundation on June5th.
Don’t Blink!
A Rhode Island native, Lars Matthew Reick began a journey in the performative arts at the young age of 12. He reached internet fame with 8-ring manipulation, which he will be performing all weekend at the Victorian Chautauqua , July 6 & 7.

Supporting Maryland Artists
The 2024 Victorian Chautauqua is pleased to receive a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council for two musical performances, solo classical guitarist Mark Edwards, and a six-piece jazz ensemble Halley Jazz, led by Halley Shoenberg.
