Showtime!
Whether you have an impressive beard, mustache, or Victorian hat, two competitions provide a chance to stand out as a champion.
Facial hair has always been a stylish statement in fashion. At the turn of the twentieth century, everything from handlebar mustaches, to mutton chops, to full-length beards would distinguish one’s image.
Women’s hats were commonplace at the turn of the twentieth century. Lavish designs might include ostrich plumes, live flowers, birds, or jewels. Worn with great pride, hats often attracted the eye of a potential suiter.

The Taste of Victory!
The judges’ panel will base their final decision on a set of criteria, rating each contestant on a scale from one to five, with five being the best. During the contest, the audience will be given an opportunity to lend encouragement by offering applause, but the final decision is up to the judges.
Registration can be submitted in advance online using the links below, or in person on Saturday, July 12th, by 5:00 PM. Visit the Victorian Chautauqua Welcome Table to fill out a registration form. All contestants are asked to assemble at the Martin Tent by 5:30, and the competition will begin at 6:00 PM. Take home an impressive trophy and plenty of bragging rights!
